New Year’s Resolution: Beauty Edition

Hi my pretty berries,

2015 is just right around the corner and I cannot believe how fast every year goes by. I thought it would be fun to share to you my New Year’s Resolution – Beauty Edition which will focus more on things that I would change/improve beauty related. So I hope you enjoy and don’t forget to comment below what your New Year’s Resolution for 2015.

I look forward to the upcoming year and what surprises it may have in store for me and this whole blogging experience. So far I am loving blogging, I just wish that my schedule allows me to have more time to write posts but I do try=) Anywho, here are my New Year’s Resolution for 2015!

  1. I will try not to lose anymore of my lip balms. Sometimes I think that there are little lip balm thieves that comes here and steals my lip balms because I swear I lose them faster than I can use it all. Does anybody else share this dilemma?!IMG_0572-1024x768
  2. Cleaning my brushes religiously is next on my list. I gotta stop being so damn lazy and consistently deep clean my make-up brushes. I know it’s gross, even I’m grossed out thinking about it >.<89d94ad59310a195b750574f966e223b
  3. Sanitize my phone every night. Yes, I have heard that phones are one cause for breakouts because we use it all day whethere we have clean or dirty hands. We put it down everywhere! I do this already but not as much as I should so I gotta get me some alcohol and do it more consistently (like every night)cXG9gTxZ
  4. Quit buying anymore lipsticks and give some love to that ones I already have. This one is going to be the hardest to do because I love me some lipsticks and I don’t think there is such a thing as “too much” of anything BUT I will try. The ones I ordered online before I posted this doesn’t count.Makeup-Little-Mermaid-Meme-Pinterest
  5. Organize my make-up and keep them that way for the entire year! HA! We shall see how this goes.tumblr_mvgva69SrQ1qfwdw7o1_1280

That’s all I have for now and don’t forget to let me know what are your New Year’s Resolution. I’m afraid that if I list more then I might not be able to commit to all of them and I am determined to follow through my resolutions. At least, I want to put an effort into it;)

Long lasting red lips

Hello my pretty berries,

I don’t know about you but there is nothing worse than having red lips “feathering” and transferring when eating or smooching and worse of  all when you have to keep re-applying 10 times  throughout the day. I thought I would share with you what I do when I use any red lipsticks because it’s such a statement look without doing too much. Technically, you can do this technique with pretty much any colour of lipstick but I do find myself going the extra step only when I use a darker shade of lipstick.

First, I picked some top red shades from high end to drugstore products. Also, you will need a lip liner, preferably something long lasting just like the Annabelle waterproof lip liner in Boisenberry. As for the lipstick, anything will do just fine. I just have here the Wet n Wild in Stoplight red, Revlon Colorburst in Crimson, Hour Glass in Icon and Nars in Dragon Girl.

Left to right: Anabelle Lipliner, Nars, Hourglass, Wet N Wild, Revlon

Then, you will need some type of translucent powder. I just have the Bare Minerals – Original Mineral Veil. I just use my finger to dab some of the product onto my lips until it is not sticky or “wet” anymore. You can test this by kissing your arm and if there are any red colour that transferred that means you have to add some more powder.

Your lips should look a little bit like the photo below. The flash of the camera kind of made it look glossy but it is matte and non-transferrable. It is definitely a lot longer lasting than just applying your lipstick but it’s not a tattoo either so at some point it will start to fade but not as fast.

Well, that is all for me. I hope you enjoyed this blog post and let me know what you would like to see me post next.

Christmas Wishlist

Hello my pretty berries,

So I’ve been thinking, since it is almost Christmas and I’m sure a lot of you are scrambling to get some last minute shopping and gift wrapping done I thought why not do a Christmas Wishlist for what I would want for Christmas. It’s not necessarily for anyone to send me anything but it’s things that I would want to get myself if I can buy myself Christmas presents. I did get the inspiration from astoldbykatie (you should go see her, she’s awesome) and if your reading this then I want you to post your wishlist on your blog too!! We can make this into kind of a tag I guess? Just comment below if you did so that I can check out your Christmas Wishlist.

So I did focus on make-up because there’s no such thing as too much make-up and it is what I would want to get for Christmas anyways. Let me know if you have tried any of the products in the comments below and let me know what you think of it. Is it worth the hype or nah?

contour kitAnastasia Beverly Hills – Contour Kit

I’ve always wanted to try this for a long long time but for some reason I cannot get myself to spend the $40 which is probably really worth it for 6 contour/highlighting pan. I think I’m just trying to finish up some of the ones I already have and then I can purchase it.

Nars – Radiant Creamy Concealer

I heard so much good things about the radiant concealers from Nars and I’ve actually tested it out when I went to Sephora. It does feel smooth on your skin but rough on my pockets! It costs $35 dollars for one concealer! but hey if Santa is reading my blog post then I sure hope he gets me this for Christmas=)

hourglassHourglass – Ambient Lighting Palette

So this product claims to diffuse, capture and softens the way the light reflects on your skin. Don’t you just want to buy it right now!? If it’s going to make my skin look like I’m glowing from within then I want it in my Christmas stocking. I might just buy it if I don’t get this for Christmas as a gift for myself but let me know if this is any good.

UDUrban Decay – Naked On The Run

This just came out of the Sephora site and I almost put it in my cart. It’s gorgeous and compact…it’s a be-gorgeous-on-a-whim-palette. I can just see myself creating beautiful eye looks from day-to-night. It is a limited edition product which makes me want to hurry down at Sephora and buy it already.

lippieLG019-2TSigma Beauty – Lip Switch in Transcend & Pink Lotus

It doesn’t look much on the packaging but I think this could be really nice on the lips. I think it will give an ultra dimensional look on the lips. Oh my goodness I want this!

Sigmax Kabuki Kit

This counts as a make-up related product right? Oh well, I’m putting it in my wishlist nonetheless because I’ve been eyeing this baby for a long time and I have heard it’s good. I hope they have a special deal for Boxing Day then maybe I can get it.

That’s all the top products that I would want to get for the Holidays but you can post up less or more it’s up to you. I can probably continue for a while but I don’t want to drive Santa broke. I really look forward to all your wishlist =)

Face Masks 101

Hello my pretty berries,

I thought I would talk to you about face masks. I’m not much of a professional when it comes to skincare but this is just how I do it and it’s been working fine for me. Basically, face masks comes in a gamut of brands that does different things, looks differently, smells differently and feels differently. There are even mask that comes in a creamy/lotion form or powder form or facial sheets. I guess my point is that the choices are endless with different purposes. The most important part in this process is how you prep your face prior to applying the face mask. For me, I like to give my face a really good scrub (I will talk about different kind of face scrubs in another blog) in order to remove all the dead skin and helps the masks to perform better. Then, if I have the extra time, I would grab some simmering water and put it in a bowl large enough that I can put my face over it . This will allow to open up my pores, again, to further help the face mask perform and I get the most benefit this way. Sometimes, I would put in green tea bags or those tablets that you can buy at Lush which are amazing!

Just click on the pictures to see where you can buy these face masks.

I like all the Freeman face masks line but this one is my absolute favourite. Not just because it smells like chocolate heaven but it actually brighten your face and minimizes your pores. I’ve had this for a while now and I’m just halfway though the tube so I mean it’s a really good buy and it’s a drugstore product so it’s easy to find.

I gotta tell you that your face will feel really minty and refresh overtime you use it. I believe I got mine at Sally’s when I was down in the U.S. probably 1.5 years ago and I still have more than half the tub left and I use this at least once a week. It does have a greenish colour that may be a bit unpleasant at first but after a while I don’t mind it anymore. As for the smell, it doesn’t really smell anything specific but I guess if I would describe it, I would say it smells like minty clay?

St. Ive’s products are very affordable and can easily be found in any drugstores. I’ve used many of their products but I’ve used the “Timeless Skin” mask the longest and I have an extra one as a back up because I’m scared I will run out of it. It extracts all the gunk out of your face and leaves you with baby soft skin; what else can you ask for!?

I am a true believer of this brand and I swear by all their skincare too I just wish that I don’t have to always order it online because shipping cost too much after a while. I am trying to save it so I only have to use it when my skin is really bad or breaking out or when I have a party to go to because it’s not as easy to get compared to my drugstore products. Anyhow, the product itself is amazing to my skin and the kaolin clay in it helps to draw out all the impurities and nourishes your face at the same time. I love love love love this! If there’s one thing you would want to get then I highly suggest you get this mask. Plus, it’s an organic product (the whole company focuses on organic products) which means that they don’t use any preservatives or other additives that are unnecessary or will irritate your skin. Okay, I can go on and on and on so I will just stop here and possibly do a big haul when I make a re-order of some of the products I love from Michael Todd.

This is a more recent discovery but I already love it. I mainly got this because it was getting really cold and my skin is getting really dry (more dry than it already is) so I panicked and went on a hunt for some moisturizing mask because all my masks are pretty much meant for drawing out impurities out of your skin and they all make my skin a bit dry after I use them. I went to the Body Shop because they had a buy 2 get 1 free sale so of course I was all over that deal and I pretty much got this baby for free! I tried this that night and it immediately replenished my skin, it feels like my skin got a boost of moisture so the next time I tried it I put it on my face as per usual and then I slept with the mask on (it does dry to a point that it is comfortable to sleep with it) and I woke up with softer skin than I’ve ever had. All in all, I would recommend applying a thin layer of it on your face and neck and sleeping with it to get the most benefit that you can get.

That is all from me today my pretty berries, I hope you enjoyed my post and don’t forget to comment and like =)

Fashion Inspiration: Winter Edition

Hello my pretty berries,

I’m back today to talk about winter essentials which is a pretty big thing for me since it gets really cold where I live. I wouldn’t say that we get a lot of snow but we get really bad wind chills and cold rain. Not to mention that I have a really poor tolerance with the cold, I’m not even kidding, anything less than 10 celsius is Antartica for me!!

I don’t want to say that I have a coat/sweater addiction but it’s not my fault that parkas and pea coats are essential where I live for the most part of the year. Anywho, I have listed below some great winter essentials in case you are on a hunt for some stylish and comfy outerwear.

Scarves for days

scarf1 scarf2 scarf3

Okay, so scarves are the number one most important element to dressing up or down any kind of outfit not to mention it looks super cute. It’s also versatile by making it into a shawl or a make-shift hood or make it into an infinity scarf. It keeps me warm and stylish at the same time. Plus scarves are a cheap way to easily switch out if you want to quickly change your look. The photos above are definitely my style, from demure to wild to comfy I love them all!!

Faux Fur Please

faux fur1 faux fur3 faux fur4

I am so friggin in love with these style and I don’t think it’s going out of style any time soon and frankly I am very happy about that. I like faux fur specifically the vest style. I just think that it makes any simple outfit and takes it to a whole another level plus it faux so that’s a plus too. I love pairing these with a long sleeve that is plain and maybe some dark washed jeans with some black ankle boots.

Let’s get graphic

graphic4 graphic3

There’s nothing better than being able to express your personality in words or pictures so why not plaster them on shirts! I am in love with graphic prints because it adds a bit of your personality without having to speak out loud but there is a border line between okay to totally wacked out. I just think that it shouldn’t over power your outfit (unless that’s what you intend to do then go for it) and having the same colour palette on the the letters/photos in contrast to the colour of the top would achieve a much more calmer approach, I guess that’s just the way I would do it with this trend because you can easily go overboard with it. I can see myself wearing this with probably a loose cardigan or a leather jacket and some black leggings or dark washed jeans (kinda like a biker girl style).

Baby it’s cold outside

You’ll see below that I have pretty much focus on clothing that are made of thicker material which can withstand the colder weather (midst of winter). I am in love with the coats that has a more A-line or at least has a belt that can accentuate the waist so it gives it an illusion of smaller waist. Also, the “boxy” or cape style doesn’t always look flattering but it does make it look like you have skinnier legs? or maybe it’s just me hehe. The trench coats are more sophisticated and it doesn’t hurt that it makes me look like inspector Gadget.

I hope you all enjoyed my post and be sure to let me know on the comments below what your winter essentials are.

By the way, if you want to check out the coats and scarves just click on the image and it should link you to the site that I found them. I just thought it would be easier to find something similar to what I own since I know for sure that it will be available for you in case you want to purchase them online.

Online Shopping — Canadian Friendly Edition =)

Hello my pretty berries,

I am so so sorry I’ve been totally MIA these last couple weeks, I think it’s all the holiday preparation and Christmas shopping that has kept me absolutely swamped. Okay, so speaking of Christmas shopping, I wanted to do some of my shopping online and if you are in Canada then you would understand how hard it is to find Canadian websites that can actually ship to Canada for free. Most sites are US base which mean $14+ for regular shipping that can take up to 4 weeks!

Anywho, I get very hesitant ordering online and pay so much for shipping unless it’s a really good deal on that site but I have since found some Canadian websites that may be of interests for some of you. I cannot fully give you a review on any of them yet since I’ve just browsed through them and made some orders on some of them but once I have gotten a full experience with the customer service, delivery accuracy, product variety and site accessibility then I will let you know which works the best.

Let me know on the comments below if you have any other sites that are Canadian friendly (in terms of shipping). I like shopping online especially since I don’t get the newest and best products here all the time and the only way to get my hands on them is to buy online.

Until next time,
